Signs of the Time is a group of volunteers who care deeply about this fraught moment in our country. We celebrate the creativity and ferocity of purpose on display in protest signs seen at rallies nationwide, and we amplify the humanity of each sign’s maker/holder by uncovering the personal story behind their sign. By sharing protest signs and stories, we hope to inspire others to join the fight while simultaneously creating a record of the resistance.
Our volunteers include Ellen Chapnick (Dean Emerita of Social Justice Initiatives at Columbia Law School) and writer/director Peter Hedges (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Pieces of April) along with people from all walks of life across the country. If you’d like to help take photos and record interviews while protesting at your local rallies, contact us for more info and training. Want to share your own sign and story? Use the form below. You can find protests, activities and events through the partner resource links below.
